Fratmen sidelined this fall

The Canadian Junior Football League has cancelled the 2020 season citing safety challenges presented by the pandemic.

“It is very disappointing to make this announcement today, but our priority is the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff, and team administrators”, said CJFL Commissioner Jim Pankovich in a release.

The Fratmen had hoped to play on their new field this fall under the St. Clair banner but will have to wait until 2021 for the opportunity. “This is unfortunate news for the Fratmen Football program.  But realizing the impact that the coronavirus has had on a global level the St. Clair Fratmen support the decision to suspend the 2020 fall season.” said Student Athletic Association President Michael Beale.

College officials say financial scholarships for the upcoming academic year will be honoured. The Fratmen are hoping to kick off a spring season.
