Windsor Spitfires split

The Windsor Spitfires overcame a three goal deficit by scoring five unanswered goals in the second period and eventually beat visiting Saginaw 7-4 Sunday night. Ilya Protas and AJ Spellacy each had two goals to lead the Spits to a weekend split following Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss at home against Kitchener. Windsor have three games in three nights coming up this week. They host Erie Thursday before heading to London Friday for the first of a home and home against the red-hot Knights.

Amherstburg shocks Lakeshore

The Amherstburg Admirals beat Lakeshore Friday night 2-1 on the road. Drew Booker and Jadyn Brown scored for the Admirals while Russell Vaughan made 39 saves in net as Amherstburg evened off their record at 10-10. Lakeshore drops to 19-4 and sit second in the Stobbs division, six points behind Essex who are second overall in the PJHL at 22-2.

Vipers move into second

The LaSalle Vipers came back from a 4-1 deficit Sunday afternoon in St. Catharines beating the Falcons 6-5 in a shootout. Brendan Gouin and Julian Gignac each scored a pair of goals. Brody Jones was the final skater and scored in the shootout. LaSalle, who are in second place in the Western Conference two points behind St. Mary's, hosts 3rd-place Stratford at the Vollmer Wednesday.

Express derailed during opening weekend

The Windsor Express got a better efford Sunday in their second game of the season but it wasn't enough as they lost 117-109 to the London Lightning. Tray Maddox led all scorers with 33 points. Latin Davis pitched in 31 as Windsor falls to 0-2. They host London Friday at the WFCU Centre.
