Noah VanNeck smashes jr. shot put record

Noah VanNeck easily won the jr. boys discus with a throw of 55.29M falling just shy of the record set by Blake Foster of Sarina Northern in 2019 of 56.84. It was a bit frustrating for the 16-year old who has thrown 58m earlier this season. Call it a warm up. Later in the afternoon he destroyed Foster’s shot put with a throw of 18.21 meters, 1.01m further. The impressive part is he broke Foster’s mark on each of his six throws.

Anieu Chan sets another record

The records keep piling up for Massey sprinter Anieu Chan. The grade 11 athlete ran away with the senior girls 800m at the SWOSSA Championships in a time of 2:10.41 seconds.

Chronopoulos sweeps sprints

Andrea Chronopolous of Sandwich Secondary a broke the WECSSAA jr. girls 200m record that stood for 50 years, won the 100m and was part of the Sabres' 4x100 relay and came away with three gold medals at the WECSSAA Championships.
