Brady Lidster Breaks Windsor Record, Ties OUA Mark in Lancers' 35-0 Win Over Waterloo

Windsor, ON — What started as a frustrating first half for the Windsor Lancers quickly turned into a record-setting night for kicker Brady Lidster, who broke the University of Windsor record and tied the OUA mark for most field goals in a single game during a dominant 35–0 shutout of the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night at Alumni Field.

With the Lancers’ offense struggling to finish drives early, Lidster was the difference-maker, hitting five field goals in the first half alone to give Windsor a 15–0 lead at the break. The veteran kicker would go on to add two more in the fourth quarter, finishing with seven field goals—the most ever by a Windsor player in a single game.

“Feels good,” Lidster said postgame. “Like I said, I just make the most of my opportunities, and I happened to have a lot of them this game.”

The previous school record of six was held by Clark Green, who achieved the mark in 2018. Lidster's performance also tied the OUA record, placing him among the elite kickers in conference history.

“I was aware that it was a record,” Lidster admitted. “All my buddies on the sideline were trying to talk to me, but I had to lock in and make sure I got my job done.”

Lidster gets ready to hit second half field goal

Windsor finally broke through the end zone in the third quarter thanks to an interception by Dylan Simpson, which sparked a momentum shift. Weagbe Mombo scored two plays later and Tyson Noel Charles followed up with a 25-yard touchdown run to put the game out of reach.

Still, it was Lidster’s leg that defined the night. “I like playing,” he added. “And I like being able to put my team in a position to win.”

The victory pushes Windsor to 3-2. They are tied wih Ottawa for 4th in the OUA.
