Lancers hockey ready for redemption

The heartbreak of losing in the OUA final has turned into a burning desire to capitalize on the new opportunity that stands before the University of Windsor men's hockey team. "We're renewed." said team captain Mason Kohn. "We were upset Saturday. Similar to Lakehead when we lost game 2 in overtime there we were ready to come back in game 3 so that's how we'll respond."
Moving up two spots in the national rankings doesn't soften the blow but the Lancers head into the national tournament in Charlottetown, PEI as the 4 seed. "The chips didn't fall where we wanted them to but we're excited and lucky for another opportunity.
Windsor opens Friday at noon against #5 Alberta who were swept in their best-of-three league final vs Calgary. The Golden Bears were 20-5-3 this season in the CW division.
"They're gonna be hungry too so I think we just have to come out on Friday and be the hungrier team."
Nathan Torchia is USports goaltender of the year. He had a stellar season leading the Lancers to nationals with 16 wins, 2.04 gaa and 0.936 save percentage.
