Nolan Bryans: Riverside's Quad-Threat Dominating His Final Season

Nolan Bryans is making his final high school season count, showcasing an incredible all-around game for Riverside. He recently notched a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 steals in a win over St. Joe's, following a quadruple-double in January at the Massey Invitational.

Double and triple-doubles are typically achieved when a player accumulates at least a combination of 10 points, assists and/or rebounds. Bryans has been consistent in steals, which is a rarity.

With averages of 11.6 points, 4.3 assists, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 steals per game across 10 tournament games, Bryans is a force on both ends of the court.

Head coach Aaron Martin praised his multi-sport athlete and told Powerplay Sports: "Nolan's an outstanding player... he's just, he's everywhere for us on the court, and we appreciate his leadership. He's full effort all the time, and he's the leader of our team."

Bryans attributes his success to hard work: "I think I just try really hard on the defensive end, play both ways, and I get rewarded for it." He believes his numbers warrants Mr. Basketball consideration. "I think what I've done, I could be in the conversation. I'm not saying I should win or anything, but I think I've put up enough numbers where I could be in the conversation for sure."

The Stingers finished 8-2 in the regular season, thanks in part to Bryans' leadership. As playoffs begin next week, Riverside will rely on their star to continue his impactful play. Coach Martin highlighted Bryans' "great instincts to anticipate the pass and anticipate the move," crediting his football background for his defensive prowess.

As Bryans looks ahead to the upcoming playoff battles, his determination remains as strong as ever. "We've had a great season so far," Bryans said, "and we're not planning on stopping anytime soon. We're ready to leave it all on the court and see how far we can go."

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That moment brought to mind the upcoming Windsor Lancers football camp and the many fall sports that would go uncovered due to cuts in legacy media sports coverage.

Recognizing this gap, and with the support of my loving wife and family, I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

Founded locally and operated locally, we blend traditional sports reporting with modern digital storytelling.

From high school athletics and post secondary programs to junior hockey and grassroots clubs, we shine the spotlight on the people who make our sports community vibrant.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter. See you soon.

"We celebrate all of the athletes within Windsor-Essex and their achievements reflected on Powerplay Sports."

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."
