Burke is Tier 2 Mr. Basketball

Belle River point guard Carter Burke was on the EC Row when he received a call from a friend. "You just won Mr. Basketball. I'm like 'What!'".

Burke wasn't aware the award was up for grabs at the WECSSAA level. He is now and is thankful to be crowned Tier 2 Mr. Basketball. "It's as great honour to have this award given to me."

The 18-year old averaged 22.1 points per game along with 6.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists during the regular season. Burke scored 91 points this past week helping the Nobles win two of their three games and qualify for the playoffs.

"We're gonna try and keep this train rolling."

The Nobles finished 3-7 and are the 11th seed in the Tier 2 bracket. They'll face the Vortex at Tecumseh Vista Monday at 5pm. The AA final is scheduled for February 19th at the Toldo Lancer Centre at the University of Windsor.

"Vista is a really good team defensively. They move the ball really well. I think if we come out with a good amount to intensity and some good pressure we could really crack down on them."

See Carter in action with the Nobles during this week's victory over Assumption in the following highlight reel.

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That brought me to the upcoming season that was going to be overlooked due to cuts to legacy media.

I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project and to continue showcasing local athletes and our vibrant sports community.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter.

Bob Bellacicco: Founder

"We celebrate all of the athletes within Windsor-Essex and their achievements reflected on Powerplay Sports."

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."
