The Leamington Flyers are surging right now and dominated the visiting Wellington Dukes 7-o Thursday night. Leamington stretched its winning streak to eight, moving into third place in the West Conference of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The Flyers struck twice in the first period and never looked back, pouring in five more goals over the final forty minutes. Joshua Cleary led the way with two goals and two assists, while Matthew Thomas chipped in four helpers. Erik Muxlow, Reid Hayes, Ethan Walker, Tyler McGuire and Brendan Cooke also found the back of the net, with Walker and Cleary scoring on the power play.
At the other end, Tre Altiman was flawless, stopping all 29 shots he faced to earn his league-leading 7th shutout of the season. He lowered his GAA to 1.80, 2nd best in the OJHL.
Leamington is at Milton Friday night. The Menace are one point behind the Flyers in the West. They'll head to Buffalo Sunday to close out the regular season.
Watch McGuire come out of the box to score.
