From 76 to 66: Windsor Golfer's Wild Comeback Falls One Shot Short

Windsor's Jasmine Ly closed with a bogey-free 5-under 67 to finish tied for fourth at the Michigan Women's Open, the newest stop on the ANNIKA Women's All Pro Tour, wrapping up July 2 at Crystal Mountain's Mountain Ridge course in Thompsonville.

Ly had a rough start with a first round 76 which left her well off the pace but she rebounded strong in the last two rounds. No one had a better two-day stretch as she roared back with a 66 and 67 to post a final score of 209 (-7), which left her just one shot shy of a three-way playoff for the win. "My game felt pretty solid despite the first round." Ly told Powerplay Sports. "I think it was just some nerves from not playing a tournament in a while. After the first nine, I started to feel more comfortable and tried my best to execute my game plan."

• T2 Kate Villegas (USA): -8 — $4,500

• T2 Katie Lu (USA) -8 — $4,500

• T4 Jasmine Ly (Windsor) — -7 — $3,000

Chaves beat Villegas and Lu on the first playoff hole after all three carded 208. Ly's surge over the final 36 holes was among the best stretches of golf in the field.

The Michigan Women's Open joined the ANNIKA WAPT as an official stop in 2026, part of the tour's pipeline to the LPGA's Epson Tour.
