From Underdogs to Ontario's Best: Windsor Wildcats U15 Heading to Nationals

The Windsor Wildcats U15 Tier I team is headed to the 2026 Canadian Fastpitch Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick, from July 28 to August 2 — representing Ontario on the national stage.

The Wildcats dropped an 12-2 decision to Stratford's Shakespeare Falcons earlier in the championship tournament, but when it came down to a winner-take-all game on July 9th in Windsor, they took care of business beating the visitors 5-3 to punch their ticket to Nationals. "We're in shock. I was in shock." said shortstop Lily McLeod who is still in shock."

Windsor wasn't the team others were talking about but when their moment arrived, they seized it.

"It's nice because we've been working hard all season. It was our goal all season and it was nice to be doing well now." said DH Emme Frey.
