Historic Beer Mile Run For Bellemore

Lisbon, Portugal – Windsor's Corey Bellemore has once again proven he's the undisputed king of the beer mile, claiming his seventh world title while setting another new world record with an astonishing 4:27 finish at the 2025 Beer Mile World Classic.

"When the gun goes off I'm locked and I get after it like any race. It's a cool achievement." Bellemore told Powerplay Sports.

Returning to competition despite rumors of retirement, the 30-year old lined up against elite challengers from the U.S., U.K., and Europe. Bellemore clocked in at 4:30 in Chicago, in one shoe, in 2023 and finished with the same time at the University of Windsor in 2024.

As always, the format was grueling: four beers and four laps, with penalties looming for any foam missteps. But Bellemore delivered a flawless performance—blazing fast splits paired with ice-cold chugging under pressure.

"It's especially tough when you're out of breath" Bellemore said. "You're trying to catch your breath and consume liquid, carbonated beer, you feel heavy and your stomach is full of cabonation."

His final time eclipsed his previous record and marked the fastest officially recognized beer mile in history. The performance also capped a remarkable streak of sub-4:34 finishes at every World Classic he’s entered.

"My lead up has completely different everytime with training to be fit or for triathlons but my track fitness always seems to remain pretty similar," Bellemore said. "Sub 4:30, the triathlon training made me stronger. Other than that I didn't do anything different."

With this win, Bellemore not only cemented his legacy in this quirky, cult-favorite—he raised the bar once again for what’s possible when speed meets suds.

Bellemore recently received his triathlon pro card and will race for the first time as a pro in September in Agusta, Georgia.
