Sunday’s hockey trophy display at the Vollmer Complex carried extra meaning, with proceeds donated to 8-year-old Cullen Flood, who continues his battle with leukemia.
Hosted by the LaSalle Vipers, the event rolled into a strong showing on the ice as LaSalle beat the Strathroy Rockets 7–2, led by Max Brockelhurst’s four point game (two goals and two assists).
The Vipers have two games left in the regular season. They'll host the Listowel Cyclones Wednesday before closing Thursday in Sarnia against Legionnaires. The Vipers sit sixth in the Western Conference and have clinched a playoff berth, while ninth-place Waterloo Siskins, five points back with two games remaining, continue to battle St. Thomas Stars for the final postseason spot.
Here's a photo gallery of the hockey trophies on display at the Vollmer complext Sunday afternoon.
