Hutchison golden at Eastern Championships

Taya Hutchison came out of the Speedo Eastern Canadian Championships with some hardward but she was more impressed with her progress this season in the pool. "My season has gotten better the past couple of months." said the Windsor Aquatic Club swimmer. "I really didn't have a good start to the season but I'm now starting to see improvements in my times.
Hutchinson, a Cardinal Carter student in Leamington, won golds in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and finished 2nd in the 200m last weekend at the Aquatic Centre. "I'm just trying to focus on being really consistent right now." said the 15-year old.
Hutchinson is excited to carry the momentum into the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials beginning March 28th at the Pan Am Sport Centre in Toronto.
"Our coaching staff, Cord Kitson, worked with her for the past three-four years. Did a tremendous job of getting her ready." said WAC head coach Mike McWha, a former Olympian. "Hopefully I can help take her to that next step."
