Lancers Cross Country hosting provincials

The Windsor Lancers are hosting the OUA Championships Saturday October 31st at Malden Park. The men are first on the course at 11am while the women begin at noon.

The men's team come in ranked 10th in Canada this week. McMaster is #1 followed by Guelph at 4, Western at 7 and Queen's at 8.

On the women's side, Victoria is ranked #1. Guelph at 2 while Windsor is tied with Laval for 3rd.

Lancers head coach Jordan Collison feels this may be the strongest women's team on the start line of an OUA Championships and his young men's roster is looking to podium for the first time since 2017.

"They're a close-knit, dedicated group of student athletes that continually push each other to be better." Collison told PowerplayWindsor.com. "To get to showcase all the hard work for OUAs on our own turf this year is really special. Expect to see several Lancers fighting for the podium backed up by a deep squad. If you've never been to a cross country meet before, this is one to come to."

17 teams from across the province will be in Windsor including the defending champs from Queen's.
