LaSalle wins shootout vs Sarnia

Patrick McManus scored to end a month long drought leading the LaSalle Vipers to a 3-2 shootout win against Sarnia Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex. It was LaSalle's first win after a dreadful month of November that saw the team earn one point in seven games.

A scoreless game was broken at 2:15 of the third as Nic Pavia scored his 8th of the season on the powerplay to give LaSalle a 1-0 lead. Less than two minutes later Ryan Richardson tied the game up with a snipe that beat Ethan Carlone top shelf.

Owen Findlay notched his third of the season taking a McManus pass off the skate and picking Nolan Dekoning low blocker for a 2-1 lead. The advantage was shortlived as Matthew Ballock scored his first of the season 16 seconds later to tie the game.

A shootout followed a scoreless seven minute overtime period that saw Dekoning make two big saves. He faced 56 shots on the night.
