McMaster pitcher beats former Windsor teammates

It was a successful return to Windsor for Michelle Louwagie who was a four-year player for the Lancers before tranferring to McMaster for grad school. "I was so excited for it" said Louwagie who pitched the Marauders to a 4-1 win in the opening game of a doubleheader Sunday.

She squared off against her friend and 5th year starter Megan Lozinski, "I was talking to Megs last night and we're both kinda like alright you're not getting inside. Or you're not getting this one coz I know what you like sort of thing".

"She told me not to throw a change up. I did" said Lozinski, who struck out her friend with the pitch. "She was not happy about it".

"The deal was no change ups but clearly that didn't happen" said a smiling Louwagie. Asked if she'd talk to her friend after the doubleheader, "We'll see about that" she said with a big laugh.

Louwagie played ball in Windsor during the summer with her former teammates before heading up the 401. "I have a lot of ties to this team. It's very different being on the other side but I'm just happy to be back again.

Lozinski enjoyed the battle with her friend on the field but said "I miss her a lot" after the game.

McMaster beat the Lancers 8-7 to sweep the doubleheader at the Turtle Club in LaSalle. Windsor (0-4) is at Waterloo Saturday before returning home Sunday to host Brock.
