Saints football stifles Hurricanes

The St. Clair College football team moved to 4-0 with a convincing 62-21 win over Hamilton Saturday night at Acumen Stadium.

"Last couple of games we've been coming out not as strong and we wanted to make statement game this game." said offensive lineman Marcus Stanley.

The Saints opened up a 41-7 halftime lead and never looked back as they racked up 530 yards on offence. Javier Lewis, Zack Burmaster and Enzey Youyoute each caught two touchdown passes while MJ Marshall-Doyle and Boriz Wright carried the ball to the end zone. Wright swam on the field during his touchdown celebration. "I can't lie I thought about that a couple of weeks. I wish I got a touchdown last week so I didn't get to do it so I got to do it this week. I'm proud. I'm happy.

So are the Saints who moved to 4-0 on the season. Hamilton falls to 3-2 and are tied with London for 2nd place.

Up next for St. Clair is a visit to the GTA Grizzlies who fell 76-0 to Ottawa Saturday.

Check out the sweet pass my Maurice Sodja to Javier Lewis for the touchdown. Great highlight and funny celebration as Javi takes down teammate Enzey Youyoute.

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That moment brought to mind the upcoming Windsor Lancers football camp and the many fall sports that would go uncovered due to cuts in legacy media sports coverage.

Recognizing this gap, and with the support of my loving wife and family, I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

Founded locally and operated locally, we blend traditional sports reporting with modern digital storytelling.

From high school athletics and post secondary programs to junior hockey and grassroots clubs, we shine the spotlight on the people who make our sports community vibrant.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter. See you soon.

"We celebrate all of the athletes within Windsor-Essex and their achievements reflected on Powerplay Sports."

John Fairley, St. Clair College

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."
