St. Clair College women's soccer head coach Steve Vagnini is the OCAA Coach of the Year for 2025-26 and received his plaque of recognition this past week. Vagnini guided the Saints to an undefeated regular season, their first West Division title in 26 years, and the program's first OCAA championship in 36 years. He also earned West Division and CCAA Coach of the Year honours following the historic season.
"All the credit goes to the kids and the school. It's team effort, always." Vagnini told Powerplay Sports. "It's surreal. There's so many good coaches. To be even in the same breath is awesome."

Making their debut on the national stage, the Saints posted a 2-2 record at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Soccer National Championship in Red Deer, Alta., fighting their way to the bronze medal match.
Vagnini also led the women's indoor soccer team to a regional championship in 2026, advancing to the final four where the Saints lost both the semifinal and bronze medal match in penalty kicks.
The last coach from the college to win the award was Doug Wiseman as bench boss of the women's softball team in 2022-2023.
The winner of the CCAA Coach of the Year will be announced June 15th.
