Another Windsor basketball success story is heading to the next level.
Pasadena City College has named Windsor's Kendyl Rizea the new head coach of its women's basketball team.

Rizea joins PCC after spending the past four seasons at Chaffey College, where she helped turn the Panthers into a playoff contender. This past season, Chaffey earned its first Southern California Regional Playoff appearance in 10 years, picked up its first playoff win in 12 years, and secured a home playoff game.
"Kendyl has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting student-athletes both on and off the court," said PCC Dean and Interim Athletic Director Dr. Timi Brown in the school's announcement.
The move marks another milestone in a coaching career that has taken Rizea from Windsor to California. Before Chaffey, she was the head coach at College of the Desert and also held coaching positions at Peru State College and Graceland University.
Locally, Rizea is well known in basketball circles. She coached Windsor-Essex to a gold medal at the International Children's Games, worked with Ontario's Junior Development Team, and spent time on the coaching staff at Vincent Massey Secondary School.
As a player, Rizea starred at St. Clair College, earning OCAA First Team All-Star honours and being named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2014.
Now, the Windsor product will take over a Pasadena City College program looking to build for the future under her leadership.
