Sherk and McCabe help 73's even series

The Lakeshore Canadiens struck first in the series opener but the Essex 73's responded in game 2 Thursday night. "It was a big night for us." said Essex goaltender Cavan McCabe who made 43 saves to backstop the 73's to a 4-1 win in Lakeshore. "I had to do what I had to do for the team."

Brandon Leblanc helped the Canadiens carry over momentum from game one's 5-1 win into the first period of game two with his 6th goal of the playoffs at 11:40.

Luke Sherk scored the first of four unanswered goals with his first of two on the night at 14:26 of the second. Liam Hall, Isaac Legood and Sherk into an empty net sealed the win for Essex. "Amazing. Knew it was coming. It was about time." Sherk said. "Boys got it together and figured out game two.

Game 3 is Saturday night in Essex with game four returning to the Atlas Tube Centre Sunday night.
