St. Clair earns national silver

They aren't coming home with the colour they wanted but the St. Clair men's basketball team has every right to be proud of the silver medal they bring back from the CCAA national championship tournament.

David Gomez Jr. left it all on the court in his final game in green and gold scoring a game-high 37 points in a 101-94 loss to Humber. Chad Vincent-Simon pitched in 18 points for the Saints who upset the #1 seed VIU Saturday to earn the first national medal in school history.

Here's a look at the final seconds of the game, Gomez Jr receiving player of the game honours and the team receiving their well-earned silver medal courtesy of the Humber Sports Network.

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That brought me to the upcoming season that was going to be overlooked due to cuts to legacy media.

I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project and to continue showcasing local athletes and our vibrant sports community.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter.
