Ten is the magic number for Reaume and Saints

It's been ten years since the St. Clair men's volleyball team won their program's first ever OCAA medal when they made it to the provincial final and brought home silver. The Saints are looking to have another line inscribed on the banner that hangs in the Sportsplex with one lonely entry. "Peaking at the right time. That's what we're aiming for." Head coach Shawn Reaume told Powerplay Sports.

St. Clair didn't have a great regular season with injuries and sickness not letting Reaume's team get a feel for what they could really accomplish as a group.

"We were really trying to figure out our lineup for the first half of the season and dropping games for all those reasons plus we didn't play great a lot of the time." said Reaume whose team also dropped a number of five setters, matches they won most of the time a year ago when they went 13-5.

The upstart Saints threw down two upsets to earn their place in the OCAA Final 4. Ten years ago, Reaume was part of a Windsor Lancers team that upset their way to the OUA Final 4. The Lancers didn't bring home a medal and Reaume would like to be on the right end of the tournament as coach.

"This was our pre-season goal. For all the stuff that didn't seem great in season we're exactly where we were hoping to be."

St. Clair will host Cambrian Saturday night at 6pm in Sudbury. The Saints have played them twice and were swept 3-0 in each match.

"You gotta play good against them because they'll let you beat yourself if you get a little wild. I like playing Cambrian. Last year we split with them. I like the matchup."
