Thunder strike gold

The Tecumseh Thunder brought home the PBLO championship from Sarnia Sunday beating the host team 5-0. The perfect weekend capped off Tecumseh's first year in the PBLO.

"It's great for our team to win the title" said shortstop Noah Morneau who pitched the first game of the tournament and struck out 12. "It puts us on the map of one of the better programs in the province. We always knew that but to go out and show it to everyone is good for the team and organization".

Morneau was one of four positional players forced to take the mound as a starter. Some of the regulars couldn't make the trip or stay for the entire tournament because of prior commitments. "The weekend was tough for our team because we were short" said Owen Findlay who was on the mound for Tecumseh's 7-1 decision over Oshawa in the semi-finals. "Everyone played a huge role and contributed to the team when their name was called".

Despite the short stable Tecumseh scored 25 runs and allowed only five during their five games. Findlay says the gold medal shows how good the coaching staff is and why Tecumseh is one of the top organizations in the province. "This year was tough dealing with all of the covid rules but our team battled through it and the memories that were made will last forever".
