For a second straight year, the Army vs. Navy showdown delivered drama right to the final whistle.

In front of approximately 500 fans, Travis Knight played the hero, completing his hat-trick in overtime to lift Navy to a thrilling 5-4 victory. The back-and-forth battle had the crowd engaged throughout the afternoon in Essex, but it was Knight’s clutch finish that sealed another memorable chapter in the rivalry.
While the action on the ice was exciting, the biggest victory came off it.
Thanks to the strong turnout and community support, the event helped collect three trucks filled with non-perishable food items for the Essex Food Bank.
"We were especially honoured to have 100-year-old Canadian veteran John Della Siega perform the ceremonial puck drop." HMCS Petty Officer Adam Mitchell told Powerplay Sports.
"The generosity of the crowd filled more than three truckloads with donated food for those in need at the Essex Area Food Bank. We are deeply grateful to the Essex 73's for being such outstanding hosts. Their professionalism and support made this event possible, and we could not have asked for a better partner. We look forward to building on the success and continuing the legacy next year."
Six years in, the Army vs. Navy game continues to prove it’s about more than just hockey — it’s about community, competition, and giving back.
