Vipers win streak snapped

October 8, 2025 – LaSalle, ON

Ethan Weir scored his third of the season on a powerplay with 1:14 left in the game as the visiting St. Mary's Lincolns skated away with a 3-2 win over the LaSalle Vipers.

Lincoln Moore opened the scoring for the Lincolns at 5:25 of the first period. The Vipers responded late in the frame, as Ian Inskip buried the equalizer at 18:34, assisted by Kaiden Harmon and Matteo Vilardi.

LaSalle took their only lead early in the second when Kade McGeen netted his first of the season at 4:52. But St. Marys struck back on the power play at 16:09, with Chase McDougall tying it up.

With the game knotted at 2–2 and time winding down in the third, it was Weir who played hero for St. Marys as the Lincolns capitalized on two of their five powerplay chances while the Vipers went 0-3 with the man advantage.

The loss snapped LaSalle's six game win streak as the Vipers fall to 6-2-1-0 (3rd in the Western Conference) while St. Mary's improves to 5-3-1 (5th).

LaSalle is on the road at St. Thomas (5-3, 6th in the Western Conference) Friday night and then head to Elmira for a Saturday night tilt with the Sugar Kings (6-2, 4th in the Western Conference).

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That moment brought to mind the upcoming Windsor Lancers football camp and the many fall sports that would go uncovered due to cuts in legacy media sports coverage.

Recognizing this gap, and with the support of my loving wife and family, I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

Founded locally and operated locally, we blend traditional sports reporting with modern digital storytelling.

From high school athletics and post secondary programs to junior hockey and grassroots clubs, we shine the spotlight on the people who make our sports community vibrant.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter. See you soon.

"We celebrate all of the athletes within Windsor-Essex and their achievements reflected on Powerplay Sports."
