Clippers earn silver at provincial tournament

The Kennedy sr. boys basketball team didn’t cap off a busy week the way they would have liked. The Clippers fell to Hamilton Cathedral 67-57 at a high school basketball tournament featuring top teams in the province. “Played well in spurts but ran out of gas.” said head coach Pat Osborne.

The tournament was the end of a stretch that saw Kennedy play 12 games In eight days Including a hard fought two-point win over city rival Holy Names Thursday. “Having some practice days would have helped correct some of the problems we needed to address.” said Osborne.

The Clippers enjoyed some much needed rest Sunday before needing to refocus on the WECSSAA playoffs this week. “I am proud of this group of players who finished second in the Ontario championship this weekend that was attended by several top programs in the province.” They’ll host Villanova Monday in a quarter final matchup at Kennedy.
