Holy Names wins Simcoe Bowl (Highlights)

Holy Names capped off their season in championship style, shutting out Guelph’s St. James Lions 23–0 to claim the OFSAA Simcoe Bowl at the University of Guelph.

The game was a defensive grind early, with the Knights holding a slim 2–0 lead in the second quarter. Then came the turning point. With 5:20 left in the half, Stefon Morgan turned a broken play into a highlight-reel touchdown.

After fielding a high snap and dodging two would-be tacklers, Morgan scrambled 16 yards behind the line of scrimmage before launching a desperate heave downfield. The ball floated into traffic and somehow dropped into the hands of Ty Vidamour, who broke away and sprinted 60 yards to the far sideline for a stunning score and a 9–0 lead.

Morgan struck again just before halftime, connecting with Aaron Gauthier with 23 seconds left to extend the lead to 16–0.

Running back Noah Hand dominated on the ground and was rewarded late in the third quarter with a six-yard touchdown run, sealing the Knights’ OFSAA championship.

Congratulations to head coach Dan Hogan and the entire Holy Names program on winning the 2025 Simcoe Bowl.
