Here's a lot at who did what and when plus more.

Here are the champions and a finalist of the WFCU Cup representing Caboto Soccer.

The Windsor TFC Stompers 2010 girls team went undefeated en route to winning their division at the WFCU Cup. They scored 16 goals and didn't allow one against.

The Riverside Royals U15 team finished 2nd at the Sienna Height College Showcase.

Spitfires forward AJ Spellacy was named to Team USA for the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Slovakia starting July 31st. Liam Greentree and Anthony Cristoforo are also playing in the tournament for Team Canada. "We'll have three Spitfires for that championship." said general manager Bill Bowler. "Well deserved guys. Good job boys. It'll be fun watching. Hopefully you take it easy on one another."

The Filipino-Canadian Association of Windsor-Essex County held their basketball championships in Leamington this past weekend.

The Tecumseh Thunder won the PBLO championship with a 10-3 win over Sarnia. "We're happy to win but our big goal is the eliminations in Burlington." said manager Dave Cooper. The Thunder are hoping to qualify for the nationals in Alberta in the middle of August.

Congrats to the Leamington 15U Lakers who won the London Talons tournament with an 8-7 walkoff win over the LaSalle Gold Titans. The Lakers didn't lose a game on their way to the tournament win.

Wishing Rosalind Canty and Jarelyn Castillo good luck in Ohio. They are there for the USA Boxing Women's Championship. For Castillo it'll be her first tournament. She is 3-0 after a fight in Detroit and a couple of bouts in Toronto.

aboutus

Powerplay Windsor was born during a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass sparked a memory—being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan early in my career. That moment brought to mind the upcoming Windsor Lancers football camp and the many fall sports that would go uncovered due to cuts in legacy media sports coverage.

Recognizing this gap, and with the support of my loving wife and family, I launched Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

Founded locally and operated locally, we blend traditional sports reporting with modern digital storytelling.

From high school athletics and post secondary programs to junior hockey and grassroots clubs, we shine the spotlight on the people who make our sports community vibrant.

Our video channel brings you highlights, interviews and behind the scenes access. We are courtside, rinkside and on the field capturing moments that matter. See you soon.

"We celebrate all of the athletes within Windsor-Essex and their achievements reflected on Powerplay Sports."

John Fairley, St. Clair College

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."
