Nothing gets by the St. Joe's Lasers

Through four games this season St. Joe's has yet to allow a goal against. "The boys work extremely well together," said head coach Mike Pio. "Not giving up any goals the whole season just shows how strong our back line is and our goalkeeping with Kieran Anderson back there. He's just like a brick wall."
The Lasers put their unblemished defence to the test Thursday night in a rivalry game against Holy Names.
Both teams had some golden opportunities. The best one came early in the second half. Zach Zalewski, a grade 9 player for St. Joe's, tee'd up a shot from the far left wing and rattled it off the crossbar. Minutes later Daniel Zoura broke in up the middle and found himself one on one with Holy Names keeper Zach Trkulja who held his ground and made the save.

Holy Names had a chance near the end of the game with a free kick on the edge of the box. A scramble ensued but the Knights couldn't convert. "I thought we did well," said Holy Names head coach Fabio Muscedere. "We battled hard. We competed hard. We had a lot of young guys playing and they gave everything they had. They're a good team (St. Joe's). We're pretty evenly matched. Not a lot of chances either way."
The game ended in a scoreless draw, the Lasers' third this season. St. Joe's beat St. Anne 1-0 in mid-April and sit in third place with a 1-0-3 record. They trail second place Villanova by a point and remain undefeated along with league-leading Holy Names (3-0-1).
Next Up: St. Joe's is at Sandwich (0-3-1) Tuesday while the Knights host Massey (0-1-3) on the same day.
