WECSSAA track and field shines in return to competition

Having not competed since 2019, many athletes were happy and relieved to be back on the track with their peers.
A big highlight was Rose Forshaw of L'Essor breaking a 40-year old discus record held by track and field mainstay Denise Hebert set in 1982.
Sammy Samuel and Ruby Radovich were fast in the senior 200. Samuel was inspired by friends and family in recording a personal best while Radovich raced against a good friend who pushed her over the finish line. She won three events at WECSSAA.
Abdul Ihmouda won the sr. boys 100m hurdles in a fast 13.10 seconds. He wants to make the record wall at Sandwich in the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles and 400m.
Colin Hebert emerged from a deep field to win the sr. boys long jump at 6.10m. He and Ty Chartrand of Herman were the only two of 33 to hit the 6m mark. Hear how he trained to get ready for this year's competition.
