Beaudoin steps away from Vipers

After two winning seasons in LaSalle Matt Beaudoin has decided to leave his post as head coach of the Vipers. "It's a tough decision on one side of it but it's an easy decision on the other side."

Beaudoin wants to spend more time with his family "I'll still be there cheering the guys on and we'll be following the team closely." said Beaudoin who informed the players of his decision late Thursday night.

"I believe strongly in the group coming back. I think next year they're set up quite nicely. If there's a window for the team I think they're in it. The bulk of the team is kinda skewing older. We have lots of 03's and 04's so I think this is a nice little window for them and I wanna see them grab it and go work hard this summer."

Also leaving to spend time with a growing family is assistant coach Eric Noel.

Together this year's group won the Coaching Staff of the Year in the GOJHL's Western Conference after guiding the Vipers to a 33-15-1-1 regular season. The Vipers lost to the conference champion Leamington Flyers in the semi-finals.

A Financial adviser for Stewart Fischer and Associates, Beaudoin won a Sutherland Cup with the Vipers in 2010 and compiled a 60-32-4-2 record during his two years as head coach.
