Clippers' season ends

There was no repeat comeback to be had as the Nepean Knights beat the Windsor Clippers 8-1 Thursday night to win the Jr. B Lacrosse championship in a sweep.

"We didn't have much in the tank." said head coach Jerry Kavanaugh. "No exuses but with McManus, Rosa and Good all out with injuries and other guys playing through it, the offence wasn't the same.

Four players scored two goals apiece for the Knights with Windsor lone goal coming off the stick of Seth Martineau early in the second.

The Clippers proved throughout the playoffs they could rise up to a challenge coming back from an 0-2 deficit against Hamilton and winning a deciding game in Elora to win the Western Conference title.

"I couldn't be more proud of these guys and what they did this season." said Kavanaugh. "Would've been easy to fold after 0-2 in Hamilton series or having to go to Elora and win game 5. They just kept answering the bell.'

The Clippers graduate four players from this year's lineup.
