Kevin Corriveau Named OCAA Coach of the Year for Third Straight Season

Windsor, ON - For the third consecutive year, Kevin Corriveau has been named the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Golf Coach of the Year — a testament to his continued excellence and leadership in collegiate golf.

A long-time figure in the OCAA coaching ranks, Corriveau guided both the St. Clair College Saints men's and women's golf teams to silver medals at the recent OCAA championships. His efforts not only earned him top coaching honours within the province but also secured his nomination as the OCAA’s representative for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Coach of the Year — an award he captured last season.

Corriveau’s latest accolade came as a surprise — delivered in an unexpected way.

"I was bringing a van back to the college and I didn't have a ride to get back home," Corriveau told Powerplay Sports. "On the way I get a text from one of the players, 'Congrats coach'. I went, 'For what?'"

Thinking it might be an old post or a mistake, Corriveau checked with Athletic Co-ordinator Jay Shewfelt, who confirmed the good news.

"There’s a lot of great coaches in the OCAA," Corriveau said. "It’s nice and I’m happy. I’m grateful I get to do this."

Corriveau will lead the Saints to Medicine Hat for the national championships starting October 12-17th.
