Lakeshore comeback wins game 3

After deadlocking the Schmalz Cup with a 2-1 win at home Saturday, the Lakeshore Canadiens came back from a 2-1 third period deficit to win game three 3-2. "It was a tight game," said Lakeshore head coach Anthony Iaquinta shortly after the game. "They are a really good team who doesn't give you much."

Clarington opened the scoring at home on Mother's Day on a goal by Jordan Shaw at 17:03. Eric Bisson tied it up at 14:44 of the second but the Hayes Bell restored the Eagles' lead less than two minutes later.

Trevor Larue scored for the second straight game to deadlock the game at two 43 seconds into the final period. That set up Julian Gignac who notched his 16th goal of the playoffs at 10:20. The defence held down the fort as Boe Piroski turned aside 37 shots for the win.

"In the second and third we came on with a better effort and we got a bounce that we needed to get the win." Iaquinta told Powerplay Sports.

Game three is in Lakeshore Wednesday night.
