Windsor is starting to feel like home for Moose Jaw's Cameron O'Reilly

There were two decided advantage for Cameron O'Reilly leaving Saskatchewan to play baseball in Windsor, Ontario, "it's a lot warmer down here than it is an Saskatchewan but it's really nice coz you get to play ball longer.

The rookie left handed pitcher from Moose Jaw threw a one-hitter for St. Clair College Friday night at Lacasse Park as the Saints beat Centennial 19-0. "It was a great team effort. My defence really helped me out".

O'Reilly is 2-0 and has only allowed two hits over ten innings of work. His dad Curtis flew to Windsor hoping to catch his son in action during the scheduled doubleheaders this weekend. "It was a nice honour he was tapped for the home opener".

Cameron had a no-hitter going in the first game of a doubleheader against Centennial College Friday night when he surrendered a single in the 5th and final inning of the mercy game. "To see him have good success with his teammates like that was really extra special" said Curtis. "I was sure hoping for the no-hitter but there was that flare in the 5th so that's the way it goes".

Head coach Roberto Duncan knows what it's like to leave home. A native of Panama, Duncan was in the Boston Red Sox organization before coming to Windsor in 2015. "The guys have done a great job making him feel home'.

Duncan recruited O'Reilly after seeing video the former 18U Canucks standout and has been impressed with what he has seen in person. "He turned out to be a lot better than we thought".
