Saints season outlook gets boost

That is now the reality following Monday's official annoucement that former OUA players Jordan Gutt and Kaitlyn Overeem have joined the Saints. "Two immediate starters and impact players." Kiss said.

Gutt played three years for Chantal Vallee at the University of Windsor from 2017-2020. In her final season in Windsor the 6'0 guard averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Gutt left Canada during Covid and played pro in her home country of Israel. Saints coach Amanda Milanis reached out when she heard Gutt was returning to Canada to finish her degree. After sitting out a year she is ready. "Coach Kiss is awesome." said Gutt. "We have a great connection on and off the court. He knows how to use my experience and maximize my abilities if it makes sense, and most of all he believes in me. I am very excited to continue to work with and play for him."

Overeem was an allstar guard at Waterloo and averaged 11.1 points per game for the Warriors last season. She also had a career-high 88 assists in 24 games, second best in the OUA. She helped lead the Warriors to a 17-5 record and their first OUA semi-final appearance since 1986 where they lost to the top ranked Queen's Gaels in a heartbreaker 69-62. The Brantford native was one of only two players to hit double digit scoring in the game. She finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Overeem was one of 10 Warrior Shield of Excellence winners this past season.

"Both are mature, talented, experienced, high character women. Man are we lucky to add them." said Kiss.
