Spits open season tonight in London

The Spitfires open their 2026-27 season tonight in London, renewing their heated rivalry with the Knights on the road before returning home to host the Knights Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.

On the radar:

Caden Harvey — Oilers' 6th-rounder, 34 points in 68 games last year. He showed flashes of his final year of AAA so he could be a breakout candidate because he has shown there's another gear.

John McLaughlin - The 17-year old is poised for a breakout season. Windsor's 2025 first-rounder only had 16 points in 50 games last season on a veteran team. He’ll likely get top-6 minutes and showed during the pre-season that he’s ready to be a leader.

Andrew Robinson — With three graduations, Robinson will be looked upon to take some serious minutes on a young team.

Michael Newlove — the crease now belongs to Newlove who put up decent numbers as backup to Joey Costanzo last season (2.76 GAA / .886 SV% as a 19-year-old backup).
