Vipers beat St. Mary's

Connor Tucker scored his team leading 7th goal of the season with two minutes left in the game giving the LaSalle Vipers a come from behind 4-3 win over St. Mary's Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex. "I think in a game like this we know going in it's going to be a war." said head coach Chad Shepley. "For us to just hang in there and find ways to score getting contributions from every line here so it's been a super positive season so far."

The Vipers trailed 2-0 on a pair of Chase MacQueen-Spence goals. Andrew Kotevski scored on a weird bounce off the backboards. The puck landed on his stick on the right side of the net midway through the second and he cashed in the freebie. Ryan Clark tied the game with 12 seconds left in the frame on a wrist shot that beat Lincolns goalie Colby Booth-Housego blocker side.

Jak Thiessen gave the home team a 3-2 lead at 6:51 of the third on a redirection of a point shot from captain Owen Findlay. Noah Vandenbrink tied the game midway through with his first of the season. Connor Tucker continued his goal scoring ways one-timing a pass from Kyle Greene in the slot for the winner with two minutes left.

With the game seemingly in hand, St. Mary's looked to take advantage of a favourable bounce with under 10 seconds left that sprung the Lincolns on a 2-on-1. Adrian Manzo sprawled to cut off the pass and Tre Altiman held his ground making a game saving stop on Jaden Lee to preserve the 4-3 win. "We battled back from the two quick goals. It was a big win." said Altiman who made 39 saves to help the first-place Vipers improve to 7-2. "Lot better than last year. We're just improving. We're on track to do great this year."
