"It's on us." Windsor Clippers faces elimination

The Windsor Clippers have their backs against the wall following Sunday's 11-3 loss to the Guelph Regals in game 2 of their best-of-five opening round playoff series. "The way we were getting dominated these two games it's a tough road but it's on us." said head coach Jerry Kavanaugh whose team lost the series opener 10-6 at Guelph Friday. "They're a good team, We're making them look a whole lot better."

Grady Holmes, Connor McManus and Callum Brennan scored for the Clippers who had the same regular season record as Guelph (14-6).

The Regals' Marcus Keleher led the league with 53 goals and 116 points this season. He has carried that success into the first round with five goals and eight assists in the first two games. Owen Orpana finished 2nd in the league during the regular season with 52 goals and was 3rd overall in scoring with 101 points. He has 3 goals and 8 assists after two games.

The Clippers faced an 0-2 second round deficit against Hamilton in last year's playoffs before coming back to qualify for the West final. "We're either gonna dig out of it or finish this on Wednesday. Call it a year." said Kavanaugh.

Regals' goalie Ty Fox-Trudel made 42 save for the win. He was lights out in the early going of a Windsor 5-on-3 powerplay in the third period before the Clippers finally broke through.

Game 3 is Wednesday in Guelph. If the Clippers manage to stay alive Game 4 would be at Forest Glade Arena on July 1st at 7pm.
